Is Umbraco on Azure currently a viable option to deploy your production site? Well at the moment there are still some limitations for a large scale deployment. The biggest is the lack of multi instance support and the fact that Umbraco is not quite ‘aware’ of the typical cloud de-coupled scenarios. But with the native support of Azure in the upcoming Umbraco 5.0 release this will for sure change. Azure will be a new option if you need a scalable, premium SLA, Geo optimized access, pay-what-you-use, secureĀ and efficient hosting platform.
Use the tools and the support that Microsoft offers to start testing and prepare yourself for the future!
